YOUR DETAILS

Reader privacy.

The reader forms send your details privately to Chris Hughes, who is responsible for handling these submissions. The forms do not publish your idea, name or email address.

Story suggestions

Your suggestion is used to understand what readers would like from future stories. A name and reply email are optional. Supplying an email lets Chris respond to your message; it does not sign you up for newsletters unless you separately tick the reader-club box.

Reader-club requests

A request includes your email address and your consent to receive new-book announcements, audiobook news and behind-the-scenes updates. Chris confirms reader-club requests before adding subscribers to regular updates. You can withdraw consent by replying to a reader-club email and asking to unsubscribe.

Where the information goes

Submissions are sent through the website hosting provider’s email system to Chris’s inbox. These forms do not create a public database or save a copy in the website’s public files. The hosting and email providers may process delivery records and messages as part of providing their services.

Basic submission limits use a hashed network address and recent timestamps in the server’s temporary files to reduce spam. The forms do not set advertising cookies or add tracking scripts.

Your choices

You can ask Chris to remove your reader-club details, delete a submitted message, or explain what information he holds by replying to his confirmation or response. If you have not received a reply, you can use the story form to send a privacy request and include the email address associated with your original submission.

Short ideas help inspire the series. Sending one does not guarantee that it will be used, credited or published.
